Late Mrs Victoria Nzolonwaneka Iduh (Nee Oweleke) was the eldest daughter of late Mr. Nwanze Oweleke and Mrs. Elizabeth Oraegbu of Omeze both of Ibusa in Oshimili South Local Government of Delta State, Nigeria.
She was born on 8th December 1938 in Kano. Her early education started at St. Thomas Mission School, Kano and at St. Louis Convent School Kano from 1944 to 1952. After her primary education, she proceeded to Sacred Heart College, Kaduna from 1953 to 1955 for Teacher's Certificate Grade III.
Thereafter, she entered Sacred Heart College Ubiaja from 1961 to 1962. She entered the University of Ibadan from 1963 to 1965 and later to Texas Woman's University USA, from 1972 to 1976, and also Temple University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She worked in many Government Secondary Schools amongst which were; Sacred heart College Ubiaja, St. Thomas College Ibusa, Nshiagu College Ogwashi-Uku, Idia College Benin City, Chude Girls Grammer School Sapele, Okpara Girls Grammar School Okpara water Side, Okpe Grammar School Sapele and Urhiapele Grammar School Sapele.She retired peacefully on 1st January 1991 and established Merit Mixed Secondary School on 18th January 1993 in response to the plea of well meaning parents who wanted a standard and academically solid secondary school.
She worked tirelessly to bring the infant school to her feet until she celebrated the 10th anniversary of Merit in Jan 2003. On the 18th day of Nov. 2003 she passed away after a brief battle with cancer.
She believed strongly in humanitarian services as a result she joined voluntary organizations. Some of such organizations are Nigeria Girls Guide, the American National Red Cross and Lions Club International.
She disciplined everyone but did so with love and that is the spirit we cannot change about Merit Mixed Secondary School.
